Chandrababu Naidu says this year focus will be on water conservation
AP CM Chandrababu Naidu will dedicate 3.41 lakh farm ponds built across the Andhra Pradesh, which incidentally happens to be his birthday and this year the AP govt proposes to construct another 6 lakh farm ponds towards the target of 10 lakh ponds and he will dedicate a few ponds at a programme in Anantapur district.
Though it is my birthday, I take it as a chance to reach out to the people for making awareness on water conservation and issues of concern which is a social accountability. That’s what can be more satisfying than mingling with people CM told at meet. AP Chief Minister was speaking a teleconference with public senate’s water user’s relations and officials on Neeru pragati as per the officials report. CM Chandrababu said one should come out of the slender thinking of me and my family and do something meaningful for the society he added.
Andhra Pradesh Government machinery people and public representatives should emphasis their care on water conservation this year he said and the slogan should be bhugarbha jalalu penchali, janam udyaminchali, the State would be drought free once the 10 lakh ponds were built as per the report. As decided target should be to increase the ground water level to 11 metres and also increase the area of farming to one crore acres and Israel which archives a rainfall of 450 mm prospered in solving water problem and Andhra Pradesh records 900mm but faces disaster.
As said, it was an unsuccessful and sordid state of activities the groundwater level was below 14 metres and fell by 6 metres and our endeavors should be to raise the level to 3 metres from below 14 metres CM said and as the future depends on water the motto has to be water for future said in meeting.
