Vijayawada: A brain dead patient’s family came forward to give a new lease life to six people who were desperately waiting for the organ donors on Wednesday. Mandava Vamshi Krishna who belongs to the Jaggaiahpet was working as a network administrator at Mandava Engineering College.

The family of Vamshi came forward showing to donate his organs. His parents Venugopal Rao & Rajeswari gave their consent to donate all his useful organs through the Jeevandan Trust. The doctors immediately made arrangements for the organ transplantation & to transplant them on six people who were waiting for donors.
Liver, heart valves & the heart of Vamshi Krishna were shifted to Hyderabad and were utilized on the listed patients under the Jeevandan scheme of the government. The heart was worn by Apollo Hospitals on a 26-year-old patient & heart valves were given to the Innova Children’s Heart Hospital. The liver was given to Yashoda Hospital and have been transplanted on a 42-year-old patient from Ludhiana.
The recipients are in the intensive care unit after the surgery. Two kidneys were given to two patients at Ayush & NRI Hospitals in Vijayawada and the eyes were donated to the Vasan Eye Care.
