In Dubai, we can see Bollywood Parks TM Dubai (BPD) which is theme park where Visitors can act before a ‘green screen,’ like skydivers from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and which is later shown to them as a customised trailer. It is a great skydiving experience, virtually with Farhan Akhtar, Roshan and Abhay Deol.
The theme park also includes major blockbuster hits like ‘Sholay-The Hunt for Gabbar Singh’. When we approach a Security guard Zoran Todevski from Macedonia outside Ramgarh Station the entrance to ‘Sholay’, he salutes us with a smile and takes us to the 3D interactive ride, based on Ramesh Sippy’s ground-breaking film where you can fight with Gabbar Singh amidst rifts and valleys. You get sound-injected infrared guns to fight with Gabbar Singh and his Dacoit team. It was indeed a surreal experience that Outside India there is so much craze for Bollywood that they involve it in Business Ventures. The strange thing was Zoran Todevski from Macedonia, has never seen “Sholay”.
BPD is part of THE extensive Dubai Parks TM and Resorts (DPR) which includes Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai, Legoland Water Park, Riverland Dubai etc. $2.85 billion on this 25 million sq ft resort is invested for the business venture. It is the first theme park with Bollywood experience. It has 16 attractions like action, music, dance and drama. The Incredible part of the park is the Bollywood Film Studios with two superhero rides. The theme also has our Indian Super Heroes “Krrish’ and ‘Ra.One’ themed Studio. It will take you on a Flight ride within a 4D flying theatre escorted by Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish. The ‘Ra.One Unleashed’ is a multi-sensory 4D screen with virtual quest with SRK. The best one is the Jaan-e-Jigar theme with 850-seater Rajmahal theatre. The one-day ticket for the theme park in BPD, includes all rides and adventures (excluding Jaan-e-Jigar) and it costs AED 285 (about Rs 5,200). This reveals the hit show of Bollywood doing profitable business in Foreign Lands
We can also find Sholay, Dabangg and Lagaan themes in the part which is truly sensory delight at BPD. Dubai and many other Countries are encashing Bollywood’s Popularity and also marketing Bollywood. It’s time, “The heart of Bollywood”, Mumbai realizes it’s potential.
