BMW Motorrad India goes into action from 14th April 2017
BMW Motorrad India, the German motorcycle maker officially announced it starts operations in the country from 14th April 2017. It’s been making its official entry to India in the month of April, the bike maker announced. Initially it is starting in the 5 major of the country. Firstly, it is interested to start its sales of its premium motorcycles while BMW G310R the most awaiting is expected to join by the end of this year.
Premium motorcycles of BMW are to be introduced first
The dealers for now have been importing the brand’s premium bikes in India privately by the next month the brand’s officially making its entry to the country offering sales and service support. As a result the prices are also expected to be slightly lower.
At the Auto Expo that held last year the BMW Motorrad made the official announcement about its operations in the country. Initially the sales of the bikes are expected to start by the end of 2016 but later it confirmed that it will start the operations via independent dealership by mid-2017.
BMW bikes list that are going to arrive to India are includes as BMW S1000 RR, S1000 R, R1200, K1600. The motorcycles will arrive as Completely Built Units (CBUs), at least initially while it would look into locally assembling the range, given the response.
The most affordable model G310R streetfighter was unveiled at the end of 2015 and yet to arrive in the Indian market. The collaboration that was made with TVS Motor Company at the latter’s Hosur facility, made-in-India motorcycle are going to be sold via BMW Motorrad’s dealer network.
The naked offering uses a 313 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine has tuned to produce 34 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque, whereas its paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle will be locking horns with the all-new KTM 390 Duke, Mahindra Mojo, Benelli TNT 300 and the likes in the segment and is also expected to bring in the volumes for the brand.
