Chennai: J Jayalalithaa, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister who grieved a cardiac arrest on Sunday is “very serious” and is on ECMO provision, the Apollo Hospitals said in Chennai on today, refuting reports that claimed the 68-year-old leader had exhaled her last.
Fierce protests had wrecked out outside the hospital following announcements that the AIADMK leader was no more, but medics delivered a statement saying Jaya was still on life backing.
“Jayalalithaa leftovers in grave situation, in spite of best efforts,” the hospice said hardly hours after it had given out its newest bulletin at 12.45 pm. The hospice said she is under continuous observation.
“The CM continues to be serious and is on extracorporeal crust heart assist device (ECMO) device,” COO Subbaih Viswanathan of Apollo Hospitals stated in the press release.
British proficient Doctor, Dr Richard Beale, Adviser Intensivist at the Guys and Thomas Hospital in London, was being referred over Skype and phone on a fixed basis and has agreed with the present line of treatment being given to Jaya.
“Condition extremely grave but can approve everything possible being completed to give her best chance of living,” said Richard Beale on Monday.
Dr Beale had inspected the Jayalalithaa 3 times in the past 3 months and is one of the senior associates of the team appearing on the AIADMK supreme.
The Centre dispatched a team of specialists from the All India Institute of Medical Science to Apollo Hospital. Four specialists from AIIMS will soon be reaching Apollo, Health Minister J P Nadda said.
“We are in continuous touch with Apollo and Government of Tamilnadu. They had demanded a team of medics from AIIMS. We hope that medics from AIIMS and Apollo will be capable to aid in her rescue.” Nadda said.
Nadda said the medics would decide the line of action and that he has no ideas as of now to go to Chennai. “We are continuously in touch with the hospital specialists and administrators of the state government in Chennai” Nadda said.
As the Chief Minister’s health is serious and rumours about her fitness doing the rounds, Apollo Hospitals is estimated to issue health bulletins on a frequent basis.
Union Health Minister J P Nadda also informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Jayalalitha’s health.
AIADMK cadres, counting women, eagerly stayed put outside the hospital, which has been enclosed in a thick comprehensive of security. Concerned party supporters sustained to pray for her rescue.
Actor and party supporter, ‘Gundu’ Kalyanam, told the party workers had faith in the heavenly power and uttered confidence that Jayalalithaa would improve.
President Pranab Mukherjee, DMK leader M Karunanidhi, his son and opposition lead K Stalin, Union Ministers, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Chief Ministers and a host of privileged have uttered concern over Jayalalithaa’s health condition and desired her speedy recovery.
