CM N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday directed the officials to identify a suitable place and to construct high-quality buildings.
Vijayawada: The AP government has decided to build flats for 9,061 government employees, judges, MLCs and MLAs in 139 acres of land in the Capital region.

He said the flats should be of affordable to employees to clear the loan in easy installments. He also interacted with CRDA officials on the progress of the capital development here on Wednesday.

During the interaction, the CM said the housing complex must be useful for employees who were shifted to Amaravati and those who are going to shift their families to the Amaravati in future.
The officials explained their plan to construct the flats in five categories in G plus 8 system. Judges, MLAs, MLCs and IAS officials will come under the first category, gazetted officers will come under the second and third category, non-gazetted officials in the fourth category and Class IV employees in the fifth category. They said the flats would be constructed in 2,900 sq ft to 900 sq ft area.
The officials said the Amaravati Development Corporation will take up laying off seven roads and designs for twin towers were ready. The Chief Minister asked the officials to complete their plans as per the targets. He said youth with innovative ideas should be involved in this development of capital.
Minister for Municipal Administration Dr. P. Narayan, CM special chief secretary Satish Chandra, additional secretary Rajamouli, CRDA secretary Ajay Jain, Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) chairperson Lakshmi Parthasarathi, commissioner Ch. Sridhar, Commissioner of Police Gautam Sawang and Guntur municipal commissioner Nagalakshmi were present.
