Vijayawada: The final plans for the administrative city of Amaravati will be finalized on 22 February. London master architects – Norman Foster informed the Chief Minister that they would submit the final designs on the 22nd.
The Chief Minister conducted a review meeting on the Amaravati development of the secretariat and interacted with the master architects Norman Fosters here. The CM said that Amaravati should reflect the cultural fame of India and especially in AP.
Mr. Naidu has handed responsibility to Dr. Parakala Prabhakar (Advisor, Communications) to bring all concerned together to shape Amaravati as a world-class capital.
During the videoconference, the Chief Minister said the designs should be innovative and the buildings should be world class. He called for the effective coordination of consultants and project officials.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the vision set for Amaravati, the progress made after 24 months, and the targets set for the next 12 months and 2018.

In addition to the above, officials said that a convention center will be built to accommodate ten thousand people. The allocation of plots to farmers will be completed this year, they added. They said a memorandum of understanding would be entered with NHAI on February 28 for the construction of the external device.
The chief minister said a sports city should be developed in Amaravati by 2019 to organize national matches. Officials said an International organization has come forward to set up a school for sport management. These plans were formulated to develop silparamam, museum and library in the capital.
