Andhra Pradesh Cabinet clears proposals for 5 smart cities

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday clear the proposal to start Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) for executing State-sponsored Smart Cities Scheme in Eluru , Kurnool , Ongole ,Anantapur and Srikakulam as per the procedures of the Central government’s Smart Cities Mission.

The Cabinet also resolved to set up an SPV called ‘Guntur/Vijayawada Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited’ for the two cities.

The Cabinet encountered at the Temporary Government Complex at Velagapudi in Guntur district.

Other important assessments were development of a multi-purpose regeneration and marketable centre as part of the Vijayawada City Square project in the public-private partnership mode at Swaraj Maidan and its environments spanning 27.5 acres. The complete project report would be organized under the aegis of a Cabinet subcommittee.

Furthermore, seventy acres had been assigned for escalating the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone at Pudimadaka (Rs.Ten lakh per acre) and Duppituru villages in Atchutapuram Mandal (Rs.Twelve lakh per acre) and 61.56 acres in R.Anantapuram village in Madakasira Mandal of Anantapur district (Rs. Ninety Thousand per acre) for establishing an MSME Park.
