The long list of bogus voters enrollment for the Graduates MLC constituency of Anantapur is a puzzle for officials.
Anantapur: The long list of bogus voters’ enrollment for Graduates MLC constituency of Anantapur is the puzzle for officials tasked with weeding out these voters to prepare a final voter list. At least 31,000 voters enrolled in five days from Nov. 1 to Nov. 5. Imam Vali, application ID No. F 18-0227650303, was included in the list, however, he produced only SSC certificate.

Similarly, Anuradha (F-18-727135130), Thippeswamy (F-18-761172070), Kalpana (F-18-607344431) have produced only the SSC certificates as against eligibility of graduation. Interestingly, an employee Prabhakar’s name was listed as the voter though he produced one page of his service registrar, sources said. Anantapur CPM district unit the secretary Rambhupal observed a big number of applications were accepted without any certificate.
“We found at least 15 applications were considered with a photograph,” he said. Further, mismatch of certificates came to light. For instance, the name of Chandrasekhar (F-18-674517421) was enrolled but BA certificate of Krishna Reddy was attached. Three types of mistakes and the irregularities were witnessed in the voter list. Despite the cut-off date of Nov. 10, 2013, for graduates, a big number of voters got enrolled even after the specified date.
For an instance, Amanullah with ID No.F-18-4372063775 got enrolment even he is not eligible as he completed the graduation in Dec. 2013. The officials noticed at least 8,000 voters were ineligible. But, several candidates suspect that the bogus voters were enrolled by major parties. “Election Commission should weed out every bogus vote by using engineering students and colleges with the help of software. Three days are enough to remove fake voters,” CPM district secretary Rambhupal said. However, collector Kona Sasidhar said that the voter list was corrected by preparing out ineligible voters from the list. “We will submit the final list to political parties,” he said.
