Actor Sija Rose says that her character in Kozhi Koovuthu made her K’town return easy.
It was nearly the same time as her introduction film as heroine in Malayalam — Nee Ko Nja Cha reached the screens that her earliest Tamil venture Kozhi Koovuthu also got released. Later, she shifted focus to her language.
Currently, after a slight gap, Sija Rose is becoming active in Tamil film industry. The actress, who essayed a pivotal heroine in Vijay Sethupathi’s Rekka, has recently completed performing in Vijay’s Bhairava. Sija says that it was her role in Kozhi Koovuthu that help out her make a re-entry in Kollywood.
“Director Shiva (Rethin Shiva) sir was in search for a performer for the role of Mala in Rekka. In fact, the reference for that heroine was the character I had essayed in Kozhi Koovuthu. The scouting for an actress lastly reached me,” says the actress, who is happy about the good reactions for the film Rekka.
About her part in Bhairava, she says, “It was after I joined Rekka that I got the request to Bhairava to essay the pair of Harish Uthaman and the cousin of Keerthy Suresh. My portions were taped at Hyderabad.”

Even though she is active in Tamil, Sija tries to be part of Malayalam movie industry. Asif Ali-starrer Kavi Udheshichathu was her newly release in Malayalam.
“It was really nice working with such a team. It was an interesting film,” says Sija. “In that picture, I acted as Asif’s sister and I am glad that the movie is doing good in box office,” she adds.
Sija points out that she has not committed to any movies in Malayalam now. “I am fascinated in something different and I am looking forward to doing that.”
Questioned her about the gap in Malayalam, she says, “I was supporting director Rajesh Pillai in Traffic (Hindi) and Mili.” Sija has also performed in Traffic.
About her direction ideas, she says, “Yes, I am interested in direction and will venture into that zone at the right time. Before that, I have to zero in on a topic and have much more to do.”
