Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox the Triumph Street Triple S’ liquid-cooled mill is capable of producing an 113 PS of maximum power at 11,250 rpm and 73 Nm of peak torque at 9,100 rpm.
Triumph Motorcycles has launched the all-new Triumph Street Triple range in the UK. The naked roadster is now available in a three power options. It includes the Triumph Street Triple S, Triumph Street Triple R and Triumph Street Triple RS. An A2 compliant Street Triple S is also available.
The 2017 Triumph Street Triple gets the new 765 cc in-line three cylinder mill as standard. The A2 version uses a resleeved the version of the old 675 cc mill with a displacement of 660 cc.
Triumph Street Triple S
Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox the Triumph Street Triple S liquid-cooled mill is capable of producing an 113 PS of maximum power at 11,250 rpm and 73 Nm of peak torque at 9,100 rpm. In comparison, the outgoing model had an output of 106 PS of power and a 98 Nm of torque. The bike is suspended on 41 mm upside-down forks up front sourced from the Showa and a Showa piggyback reservoir mono shock in the rear with an adjustable preload.

Brakes in the front include the twin 310 mm floating discs with Nissin 2 piston calipers and single 220 mm disc in the rear with the mono piston Brembo caliper. Features include ABS, switchable traction, and ride by wire, two riding modes (rain and road) and analogue/LCD instrumentation borrowed from the Triumph Speed Triple. An A2 version of this model gets a different bore and stroke, and the displacement is brought down to 660 cc.
The Triumph Street Triple S will be available from April 2017 and will be priced at GBP 8,125 (OTR).
Triumph Street Triple R
The Triumph Street Triple R also uses a 765 cc triple. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and a slip and assist clutch, the engine is capable of producing the 118 PS of maximum power at 12,000 rpm and 77 Nm of peak torque at 9,400 rpm. The bike is suspended over the Showa 41 mm upside-down front forks with adjustable compression damping, rebound damping and also the adjustable preload and a Showa piggyback reservoir mono shock with adjustable spring preload (lock-rings), compression damping and rebound damping.
Discussing automobiles especially about the bike, triumph triple r Brakes get the 310 mm twin disc set up front and Brembo M4 32 four-piston monobloc calipers and a single 220 mm with the mono Brembo caliper. ABS and traction control is switchable. Other features include a new 5 inch TFT display, DRL headlights, body coloured fly screen, self-cancelling indicators, integrated air intake borrowed from Triumph Speed Triple and the pinstripe wheels. Riding modes in triumph triple r have been increased to 4 (sport, road, rain and rider).
Price for the street triple r will be revealed at the later date and the bike will be available in the UK from May.
A new low-ride version of the Triumph Street Triple R is also available which has the seat height of 780 mm (down from the standard 825 mm). Instead of reducing the cushioning, Triumph has reworked on the suspension to reduce the height.
